I posted 7 times yesterday - trying something new for me - live posting (not tweeting) from the 2008 Oracle OpenWorld conference - something which is genuinely more open than I've seen from most conferences. Oracle actually gives bloggers a LOT of credit elevating them to the same status - at least in the provision of access and equipment as the press which is both a good thing and a smart thing for Oracle to do.
I've discovered that live posting is both very hard and a lot of fun. But today I have more meetings than sessions so I'll be doing a few things:
-
- I'll cover the session on Social CRM being done later today (not live though) by Tanya Roberts who runs the Social CRM applications development team and is REAL good at it. We'll see how it differs from those of Anthony Lye who has been all over the conference non-stop talking about them. He had a totally packed session on it yesterday. Despite some entirely meaningless technical glitches, it was a great session. I'll be writing more about where I think their apps are in another blog post - my assessment of the CRM portion of OpenWorld with some overlap most likely into Fusion.
- I'm going to tape some interviews with a variety of folks today on their thinking on CRM and Oracle etc. that will be posted on the MyCRMCareer site. I did it for SAP ASUG last week.
- I'm going to be meeting with a lot of people today so what I can write about (some will be under non-disclosure) I will
- The ninth blog entry will be about last nights Oracle Social CRM party. We spend so much time analyzing software and messaging (I do anyway) that I thought it would be nice to analyze a party!! :-)
Watch for this in a short time. Its 6:06am here. I'll have it up by oh, around 7:00am or so.
